Chelsea‘s desperate attempt to boost its attack could lead to yet another unexpected pursuit.
It’s understood that Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is eager to add a proper “target man” to his attacking unit, and is weighing a move to sign West Ham United forward Marko Arnautovic, according to Pete O’Rourke of ESPN FC.
Arnautovic is less than a year into the five-year contract he signed last summer when he made the switch from Stoke City in a deal reportedly worth £25 million.
The 28-year-old has found the back of the net six times and created three assists in 19 Premier League appearances this term.
Alleged interest in the Austria international follows a period of reports suggesting Chelsea considered similar deals for forwards such as Arnautovic’s West Ham teammate Andy Carroll, Peter Crouch of Stoke City, and Christian Benteke of Crystal Palace.
